I'm trying to get a little more colour on the different types of EIR in the search world. Here's what I see search investors offering as EIR:
1) EIR as an in-house role to find, acquire, and run a company in-house for the investment firm (no ownership stake)
2) EIR as a searcher in a sponsored-search (one investor)
3) EIR as a searcher in an incubated search (one investor)
4) EIR as a hybrid of an in-house role and either a sponsored or incubated search
Am I missing anything? Is there one predominant model, and/or is the model evolving? Current and past EIRs and investors who engage them, please weigh in!
