EIN via Fax - Timing

Has any recently had experience applying for an employer identification number (EIN) via fax? I was unable to apply online and was told to send the SS-4 form in via fax.

Its been two weeks now and I still don't have an EIN. Curious if anyone here could provide timing guidance if you've recently had to go this route.

They generally return a fax within 3-4 days asking for more information or with the EIN when I looked at applying for EIN for a foreign company by fax. I think I would either wait one more week to send a followup fax or just trying calling to see if you can apply that way.

To close the loop here for anyone who might find themselves in a similar situation, we finally received the EIN today (5/2/###-###-#### The original filing was sent in on 4/11/2022 and a subsequent filing was sent in on 4/21/2022.
