We are seeking an experienced General Manager to take full operational ownership of a profitable, ~$9.5M revenue direct-to-consumer and retail beauty brand following an acquisition. The business currently operates under a shared services model with the seller, and the brand's founder/prior leadership will not be transitioning with the business on a permanent basis. However, the outgoing management team will remain available to provide full transition support for a minimum of 6 months post-close, ensuring continuity across retail, supply chain, marketing, and finance while the new GM ramps up. This is a rare opportunity to step into a fully built, revenue-generating company with a structured runway to independent operation.
The GM will report directly to ownership and will be the single point of accountability for P&L performance, team leadership, and coordination with the brand's existing network of retained agencies and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Own full P&L responsibility for the brand, including revenue growth, margin management, and operating expense discipline.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to the internal team (retail, supply chain, and creative functions), setting priorities and ensuring accountability.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for retained third-party partners ensuring alignment with brand goals and smooth day-to-day coordination.
- Oversee inventory planning, supply chain execution, and retail sell-in/sell-through performance in partnership with the Head of Supply Chain and Head of Retail.
- Manage brand marketing, DTC, and customer experience initiatives, including oversight of graphic design output and customer support and marketing/DTC support functions.
- Partner with finance (internal or outsourced) on budgeting, cash flow, and reporting; oversee the Financial Controller function pending confirmation of scope.
- Work closely with the outgoing management team during the 6-month transition period to absorb institutional knowledge across shared services functions, and evaluate which of those functions should transition to dedicated, in-house support versus continue on a shared basis.
- Evaluate current team structure and roles, and make hiring, restructuring, or backfill decisions as needed to build a durable, right-sized organization.
- Identify and execute on growth opportunities across retail, Amazon, and DTC channels while maintaining brand integrity and profitability.
This role reports directly to ownership. The outgoing management team will provide full operational support for at least 6 months following the transition, after which the GM will be responsible for building out the organization described above on a standalone basis.
