Does your first cold email to a potential seller include an offer price?

I'm wondering if outreach to companies should include an estimated offer price. Perhaps it's too much personalization for the first email?

I don't know how you could put an offer price on a business where you have no information on (management team, size, ebitda###-###-#### You might do a generic email explaining the general criteria that you have (Ebitda, revenue, sector) for your search and maybe ( I would not personally) give a range of valuation. The caveat is that it put you in negotiation "straight jacket" . I hope that helps. Thank you ^redacted‌ for the tag.

I think such an offer in a cold email impedes your ability to manage expectations going forward. Especially considering you have no information to make a credible conclusion. If you are too low, you have potentially offended the target. If it is too high, you will been to backtrack.

In my opinion, the first email should work towards establishing interest and building trust.
