Hi, I'm currently evaluating an eCom business and their product is currently mixed and packaged in China. The seller explored the US market first but decided against it due to: - High costs (obvious) - Vials packaging unavailable in the US (hard to believe) - Avoid paying US corporate tax (seller lives outside) I am looking to connect with someone who knows this space so I can talk to a few mixing manufacturers in the US.

The most common model for domestic cosmetic manufacturers: - internal or contract formulation > domestic - contract mixing > domestic, mix of domestic and imported ingredients - plastic or other specialized packaging > imported - paperboard packaging > domestic Cosmoprof and LuxePack are the large tradeshows in this space. Cosmetic packaging components suppliers are dominanted by Korean and Chinese vendors. Ohio has several programs in cosmetic science and formulation desig, should you wish to hire for internral formulation. And note FDA requirements when importing cosmetic products.
