Hi-

I'm evaluating a deal involving a regional wholesale butcher. I'm looking for some guidance on appropriate valuation multiples to consider along with feedback from anyone who may have experience with transactions involving family owned/operated businesses which retained some (not all) of the original owners post close. Trying to identify some creative structures/options that may be good considerations in this situation. Any suggestions/ability to connect would be appreciated. Thank you!

@Clinton, no specific industry experience, but I specialize in negotiating creative Earn-out structures and deferred payments to properly incentivize previous owners post-close. Have looked at a few of these, usually high revenue, low margin business, with a chunky amount of working capital, also has a low multiple, a bit risky if you don't have experience in the sector.
