Does anyone have experience in acquiring small packaging companies in Germany (1-5mn revenues)? Ideal would be guidlines for EBTIDA or revenue multiples or in assessing and negotiating, as well as financing such acquisitions, e.g. via vendor loans.

If you have relevant experience and are interested in exploring this opportunity, it would be great to get in touch.

Hi Lukas, I have looked at two companies in this space, but did not pursue further because they were not sufficiently profitable. For valuation, I would propose to use multiples for the DACH market for trade, business services or production (depending on what this packaging business does). You can find these overviews at NIMBO, dealcircle or DUB.

for financing, your local Landesförderbank can usually provide guidance. Some states also have funds that provide equity (eg BayBG).

Hope that this is helpful!

No real in-depth experience, but saw the industry in my dealflow-CRM quite often :) Chose other industries (asset light, services,...) for various reasons. But in general, happy to connect

By the way - KNOX (based in Hamburg) is a small M&A advisor focused on packaging, maybe that might help for future deals and getting an opinion on industry.
