Does anyone have experience starting/running/buying a blood bank?

I am interested in buying a blood bank. Does anyone have any experience in starting/running/buying one? I am especially interested in the economics of such an undertaking. Would be very grateful for any help.

I interviewed for a position at a large one a few years ago. I recall that it was a not for profit and they were consolidating independent blood banks, most of which were also not for profit.
