Does anyone have experience searching in a new country?

Due to some family obligations I am considering broadening my search to include the United Kingdom. I am a U.S. Citizen with experience in U.S. private equity operations and consulting - I've never lived in the U.K. and am not sure if the search process differs substantially outside of the increased effort and travel needed to build rapport.

Has anyone here searched in a different country in which they have not previously lived? Any advice about why this may be more difficult than anticipated, or, perhaps, less difficult?

Thanks!

While this does not directly answer your question, our interview with ^redacted‌ who moved to a new country with his wife may provide food for thought: https://www.searchfunder.com/post/having-fortitude-when-being-the-first-searchers-in-a-country

Too many variables. If you are not living there or lived there, you will have to understand that market. First assess if you would live there, go vacation there and see yourself. Culture, politics, language are all variable that can affect how you run and grow the business in the long-term.
