Does anyone have experience replacing a business owner/operator in the dental industry?

I'm seeking to purchase a dental lab/milling center and the seller currently operates the business and is a certified dental technician. I would need to replace the seller's operation and source another technician. What are the watch outs? How would I source talent with limited experience in this industry?

One idea I've seen in similar situations for other industries is to make it part of the seller's transition plan. The seller may know a good replacement personally, or will at least know the skill set and best recruiting avenues to pursue.

One speedbump I've come across when you cant personally replace their operational skills is still making the numbers work, because now your are replacing the seller with 2 salaries (yours and the operational replacement). Can still work, but makes some deals tougher.

Hi Kinza, Live Oak Bank has a Dental Industry Vertical. It is actually one of our largest and most mature verticals. If you would like me to arrange a call with one of our domain experts, please send me an e-mail: redacted
