In general, a good franchise lawyer can help you, BUT the size of franchisor will dictate the relevance of any changes your lawyer might make. Example: a giant such as Subway will likely have a very detailed and rigid agreement. Your lawyer might find many issues seemingly unfair to you, but A giant will rarely negotiate much because there is always another buyer for the territory available. HOWEVER, if you have a large number of territories for a smaller franchiser, your power may change therefore your lawyer's request for changes may get more consideration. As my lawyer told me: most large franchise agreements require the small franchisee to accept some or even a lot of unfairness. Caveat Emptor and only hire an experienced franchise lawyer to avoid wasting time and money
