I have a deal in the refurbishment of homes and offices and would like some insights. My main concern is the correlation with the economy, in these regards I have read and feel that when there is a downturn in the economy people prefer to refurbish rather than build from scratch. However how can a company like that compete when the economy is hot and new buildings are being made?

I do. I owned a GC business from###-###-#### where we did both home and pool refurb/repair/additions. That was the hayday of the beginning of this big real estate cycle so there was work to be had, lots of competition. I'm currently searching and have been thinking about getting back. I think your instincts are correct and you can see the performance of the home depot before, during, and after the 2008 financial crisis. I do think it would be very dependent on what you are offering. I have a lot of thoughts here if you wanted to look me up on linked in.
