Does anyone have experience acquiring a industry research /intel firm?

I am looking specifically into firms that perform industry research/intelligence.  Specifically I'm looking at companies that provide information/data/consulting to other organizations with information that gives them an decision advantage either. If you have any insights into acquiring a company like this I would like to hear your experience.
