Does anyone have any industry intel on life insurance?

I am looking at an insurance agency that is claiming $2.5M EBITDA on $8M in revenue. Does that pass the gut check? The listing also says it's wholesale life insurance, but I'm unclear on whether that's accurate, or if the broker actually means whole life insurance.
