I never understood the purpose in connecting with people you don't know or have ever interacted. What is the benefit of having 13,000 LinkedIn connections if you don't know them?

People go to networking events, to connect with people they don't know or have ever interacted with just so that they can know new people in the industry and generate opportunities.

Being on LinkedIn gives you the opportunity to do it on the scale, and with people anywhere in the world.

Now, I try to connect and interact with everyone. There was a time I used to send a personalized video to people I used to connect which I stopped after sending over 1000 videos.

I generated some opportunities for my Digital Marketing agency through the same as well.
