Do P.E. firms pay for our diligence?

I am an independent sponsor working on my first deal and am wondering whether the private equity firms I will engage with will pay for the due diligence work or whether this is a cost I will need to bear?

What has everyones experience been?

Thanks for the ping ^redacted‌.I don't want to provide a blanket answer as I know this can vary.From my experience at DueDilio, the independent sponsors we have worked with paid for due diligence themselves.
