Distressed home caregiver service

Hi Michael, I am searching in this space as well. I think a few things to look at are the payment sources, e.g. Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, Private Pay, LTC Insurance, VA, etc. What kind of operating capital is required (some government referral programs through Medicaid require three months of operating capital in the bank). What does the cash flow and AR aging look like - home care businesses almost always operate behind as they have to meet debt coverage, payroll, etc. while waiting weeks or more for payment to come in. Is the business scalable, i.e. can the census easily be grown via SM marketing, creating relationships with SNFs and ALFs, etc? Can ancillary services or partnerships be made such as care management, transportation services, home remodeling for aging in place, LTC consulting, etc. There is much more, as you know, but I think the other important question is whether or not it is a franchise which will limit your ability to scale and add new services. In the end though, I think the main question is the operating capital question - how much will you have to inject over and above the purchase price. I hope some of this is helpful!
