The client is a multi-site full-time, center-based, early intervention Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy program serving children with autism ranging from 18 months to 6 years of age. Its mission is to deliver the highest quality therapy to help early learners reach their potential to communicate, improve social skills, and prepare for academic success. The client is looking for talented and ambitious candidates who aspire to take on a high impact, high responsibility role in a fast-growing business. Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Director of Operations will manage the day-to-day activities of six locations. They will enable the VP of Operations to be most effective by providing support and counsel in the day-to-day management of the organization to ensure smooth and highly efficient organizational operations. The client is a young, fast growing organization, and the person in this role will help with building processes and systems, help with paving the path for future Directors of Operations managing new locations.
The role is based in the metro Washington DC / Baltimore area. This role will require weekly travel to all six locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role is integral to the success of the client’s multi-location operations and future growth. By focusing on operational efficiency, team development, and process standardization, the Director of Operations will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s expansion strategy and long-term success.
The Director of Operations responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Operational Leadership
Oversee daily operations of six locations to ensure efficient and effective functioning.
Develop, implement, and refine operational policies, procedures, and standards across locations.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the achievement of operational and financial goals.
Playbook Development
Create a comprehensive operational "playbook" as a blueprint for future Directors of Operations, outlining processes, workflows, and best practices for managing multiple locations.
Standardize processes for location setup, staffing, training, and quality assurance to streamline future expansions.
Team Management
Lead, mentor, and support location managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
Identify training needs and implement programs to ensure consistent service and operational excellence.
Act as the escalation point for operational challenges and conflicts, resolving issues effectively.
Growth Strategy & Planning
Collaborate with the executive team to strategize and execute plans for growth, including opening new locations.
Analyze operational performance and recommend improvements to drive scalability and efficiency.
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to guide operational adjustments and expansions.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure all locations comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Maintain a high standard of service delivery across locations, driving customer satisfaction and retention.
Facility Management- ensuring that centers present well to families and are operational
Budget & Resource Management
Manage budgets and optimize resource allocation across locations to ensure profitability.
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or staff satisfaction.
Communication & Reporting
Serve as the primary communication link between the executive team and location managers.
Provide regular updates and reports on operational performance, challenges, and opportunities.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE
5+ years of proven experience leading and building teams in a relevant business industry
Undergraduate required; MBA from a top program is preferred
Results-oriented, with strong problem-solving, creative, interpersonal skills, including ability to resolve disputes, use discretion, and strictly maintain confidentiality
Developed negotiation skills; demonstrates tact and diplomacy in all interactions
Ability to meet deadlines; accomplish work in order of priority; anticipate and proactively mitigate risks; and professionally maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure and changing conditions in a fast-paced environment
Proven experience in producing high-quality, error-free work for important stakeholders
Strong strategic and financial analysis skills
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills for a variety of audiences
Familiarity with a range of computer programs, including the Microsoft Office suite
