Thymos Capital (thymoscapitalgroup.com) is seeking partners.

Our fund is taking advantage of the current macro situation to acquire and restructure technology companies that VCs may have in their portfolio, and are producing revenue, but have chosen to neglect for various reasons. These companies typically have solid revenue but are not the unicorns that venture capital partners need to meet performance on a portfolio-wide basis. Thymos acquires, restructures those businesses, and brings a portion of the profits back to our partners.

Tech valuations are low, VCs are looking for a way to increase their returns, and acquisition opportunities are ripe.

I tried to do this in the past, but found that the model doesn't really work. Failed startups often have minimal revenues and fundamental issues that cannot be fixed. Underperforming startups (with revenues) often sell to strategic buyers for valuations that aren't justifiable by pro-forma cash flow.
