Here’s what a day in the life looks like as a 27 year old living in San Diego, building Big League Clean into a nationwide commercial cleaning business. (Re posted from Linkedin) 1. Cold-called other cleaning business owners Out the gates early. No warm-up. Straight to dials. Most mornings start with outreach to other cleaning business owners. Calls, emails, and follow-ups. Not to sell them anything, but to build real relationships with operators who understand the business. I believe that for us to acquire great businesses, we need to know great operators long before a deal is on the table. 2. Errands + handing out business cards Even on days that aren’t office-heavy, I try to treat everything as an opportunity to build the network. Dropping off cards. Introducing the brand. Making sure people remember the name. Dropping business cards wherever I go and putting our name out there. Mantra #1: Visibility beats talent. You can be great at what you do, but if no one knows you exist, it doesn’t matter. Especially in commoditized services. 3. Met up with some other cleaning biz owners We explored a deal once. It didn’t happen. That’s normal. Instead of disappearing, after it didn’t work out the first time, I tried to keep our relationship going and follow up. Because most deals don’t happen the first time, and trust is built over time. Acquisition is a long game. Mantra #2: Trust precedes transaction. Before contracts, before numbers, before LOIs, there has to be trust in my opinion 4. Caught up with our M&A advisor, Frankie. Having the right guidance matters. We’re constantly reviewing strategy, pressure-testing assumptions, and making sure we’re building the right foundation before scaling faster. Advancing the strategy + building the roadmap And always repping the BLC brand, because when you’re a founder, everything you do is marketing. We’re not just cleaning buildings - we’re building a nationwide cleaning business. LINK to VIDEO: https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7407505329892102144/
