Hi all,

What CRM you have been using for your search?

I saw a video on youtube "how to setup your Hubspot for a search"....but somehow I can't find it anymore. Anyone has similar vidoes/guides?

Hey Calin, I’ve been doing a self-funded search too and played around with a few CRMs. HubSpot’s probably the most popular, it’s flexible, has a solid free version, and works well for tracking emails, outreach, and managing a deal pipeline. I remember seeing that video you mentioned about setting it up for a search, maybe on Searchfunder or Aaron J. Varnell’s YouTube channel? Might be worth checking there. A few others I've seen people use are Streak, which is great if you live in Gmail, Airtable if you want something super customizable, Pipedrive for a clean deal-focused interface, and Affinity, though that one’s more expensive. I started with HubSpot and added custom fields for things like industry, outreach stage, and notes on each owner. If I find that video again I’ll drop the link. Let me know if you have more questions where I can help you with

I defer to searchers to respond with their learned best practices, but Hubspot is relatively free and effective tool. I understand dealcloud has a "low cost" version for independent sponsors and / or searchers maybe - I know a lot of LMM funds use it but I can't comment on fit for eTa, but haven't validated or used. Whatever you use - having a disciplined system for managing comms and your funnel (ultimately your time prioritization) feels like a critical input to success. *following* !
