CPA/QoE recommendations for project accounting / working capital diligence
I’m looking for a provider with experience in construction, specialty contracting, or other project-based businesses where percentage-of-completion / WIP accounting and working capital can get complicated. I’m under LOI to acquire a <$2.0M revenue low-voltage / technology contractor in the Great Lakes region. The areas I most need help with are: -Normalized working capital and establishing a defensible closing WC peg -WIP and job costing -Costs in excess of billings / overbillings -Customer deposits -Inventory and job-specific materials -Revenue and expense cutoff -Project-level margin recognition / margin fade -Understanding how these items affect both reported earnings and actual cash flow The engagement can be relatively focused/light — I care much more about having the right technical expertise in these areas than getting a broad, polished institutional QoE report. Would really appreciate recommendations for specific firms or individuals you’ve had a good experience with. DM is welcome.
