Hi All,

I closed on my first CPA firm in November of###-###-#### I just now thought I should post about as I've been so busy with the transition and then updating everything at the firm that I stopped coming to the website for a while.

I was originally doing CFO advisory work and some due diligence on deals, the firm I acquired is definitely traditional, lots of opportunities to improve and some opportunities to upsell the business clients who have been asking for advisory type services. The big push now is marketing and getting the right kind of leads, which are businesses that need bookkeeping and advisory, & tax planning (individuals & businesses) as opposed to once a year clients, which we'll still take but I'm trying to move to the businesses.

I got a ton of value out this forum so if anyone has questions we can host a group discussion/Q&A or if someone wants me to host a webinar on a topic (Tax, Entities, my experience, Tax Planning, Due Diligence, etc) for your audience, let me know. Learning marketing and reaching out is also much more fun than accounting, in case anyone was wondering.

Wish me luck.

Best,

Saad Abbas, CPA

Congratulations! Do you specialize in a particular size or industry? Where are you geographically?
I've been eyeing tax consultancies for a while, and am setting up a sales tax service from scratch this year.
