Chairman of my board

Anyone has experience on whether the Chair of my board as I embark on this journey needs to be local or remote?

I am following the qla model of acquisition for reference

These days, remote is acceptable as far as accessibility goes. BUT I would say more local is better because the more local someone is the more 'context' they will have to understand the nuance of the specific business and add more value/make better decisions. Someone in a foreign country will be at a disadvantage since many things are location unique. By the way, why are you seeking a 'chairman' of the board when you are just starting out?

Thanks for your reply Sven. I am following the framework of Dan Pena of acquisitions. I want to roll up home care businesses in Canada and the very first phase of the project is to build a dream with a Chairman who would be experienced in M&A to advise me on navigating the waters and lead the rest of the team: industry expert, CFO, lawyer, accountant, and have leverage with banks and investors etc...
