Does anyone have experience with CEO Peer to Peer groups such as TAB (The Alternative Board), Vistage, C12, Renaissance International, etc.? If so, was it you or the owner of a company you were looking to acquire, or one of their executives? What is your opinion. Does a company participating in such a group have more value?

I am in a Vistage group in Chicago - and I would say it has been extremely beneficial. The chair of the group is a huge determinant of its success - however - I think Vistage has built a very strong organization that adds value beyond what each Chair brings to the table. Each meeting typically has a guest speaker. We had David Friedman in May and he was exceptional. https://culturewise.com/. Then, a large portion of the meeting is issue processing - basically - members getting feedback from other members on how to tackle an issue or a big opportunity. Can't recommend it highly enough for business owners & CEOs.

These groups are all about the leader. Do they ask tough questions, do they make the owner/exec bare their soul, challenge them, etc. (I was in an advisor group and the leader really probed us on what we were doing.) On their own they don't increase a company's value. If it helps the owner it shows in the profits and culture. I have clients who swear their group is the best (business) thing that's happened to them. I know others who aren't excited by these groups. Besides the leader, it's what you put into it as often we learn best when helping others.
