Hey Canadian searchers,

How did you deal with the visa situation? Let's say you search in Canada but you buy a business in the US, what kind of a Visa would you need to get? Who would sponsor it?

H1B? TN?

Worth exploring some of the talent visas like O1, EB1a and EB2 NIW as well. We have had success working with entrepreneurs on these categories. No issues with ownership %.

I did interview a Canadian a while back who bought a business on the E2 visa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGSmi2NI9hY

E2 and TN (consultant) are likely going to best the easiest/best bets, depending on your specific goals. Generally speaking, both are pretty straightforward to get as it relates to ETA. I'm not a lawyer but I've spoken with a number of them and have done a fair bit of independent research on the topic (have a good amount of experience here as well). Happy to chat if helpful.
