Can SBA Express Loan be used to acquire a business?

I was told that SBA Express could not be used for company acquisitions such as SBA 7a loans.

Any subject matter expert out there that can confirm that?

Yes an express loan can be used for acquisition among other uses of proceeds. Normally you’d just use the sba 7a program unless the deal is very small and then the express program might have some additional benefits.

There is an express line and an express term, both 50% guaranty and the line is for working capital only. A lender might use the sba 7a or sba 7a Small loan program to get a 75% guarantee on the loan rather than 50%.
