Deal Stage: Pre-LOI — currently in early diligence and thesis development. I have not yet submitted a Letter of Intent. I'm sharing this opportunity to build relationships with the right partners before moving forward.
The Opportunity:
37-year-old SoCal drayage/port logistics company
$3M EBITDA | $13M asking (~4.3x multiple)
Established customer relationships, hard asset base, and strong reputation in one of the busiest port corridors in the country (LA/Long Beach)
Significant upside potential through route optimization, AI-driven dispatch, and operational consolidation
I'm looking to connect with:
🚛 Drayage / Port Logistics Industry Experts — If you've operated, owned, or consulted in the drayage, intermodal, or port trucking space, I'd love a 20-minute call to pressure-test my thesis and understand the key operational risks (driver retention, chassis availability, port dependency, contract structures, etc.).
💰 Debt Partners — Seeking introductions to SBA-preferred lenders experienced in trucking/logistics acquisitions, as well as asset-based or mezzanine lenders comfortable with fleet-backed deals of this size. Targeting ~$7–8M in total debt across senior and subordinated tranches.
📈 Equity Partners / Co-Investors — Looking for aligned equity partners for a $3–4M raise. Ideal partners have experience in transportation, logistics, or blue-collar service businesses. This deal has strong cash flow characteristics with a clear value-creation playbook through technology implementation and operational improvements.
The port of LA/Long Beach handles ~40% of all U.S. containerized imports, and drayage is the critical first/last mile. This is a resilient, infrastructure-backed niche with high barriers to entry.
