Anyone familiar with the California labor laws when it comes to unpaid internships (targeting undergrads and MBA students)? Is it required that the interns get some form of college credit (in lieu of fees)?

And if the intern is paid, any idea on admin effort###-###-#### forms, I9 checks, etc) required to onboard?

There are many professions where interns do not get paid. I don't think there is law on the subject. Of course, CA can be different.
College credit is determined by the college. not by the employer.
Most interns are on 1099.
