Caprae Capital Partners - Buyside Intern / Deal Manager Track 10 hrs/week | Multiple Tracks Available | Remote | Paid or Unpaid Roles | High-Intensity M&A + Company-Building Training Caprae Capital Partners is a next-generation private equity platform built by founders, not career financiers. We do not just advise from the sidelines. We buy companies ourselves. We help clients buy companies. We launch new companies. We help grow current portfolio companies across IT services, tech-enabled search, services businesses, and other founder-led platforms. We build operating infrastructure for the lower-middle-market. Caprae works with PE firms, business brokers, independent sponsors, strategics pursuing roll-ups, acquisition entrepreneurs from tech, self-funded searchers, and traditional searchers across the U.S., Canada, U.K., Switzerland, Germany, Spain, China, and Panama. Since launching, Caprae has helped support $130M+ in closed transaction value across its ecosystem as of January 2025, while growing 10-20% month-over-month for 18+ months. We also have over $2.5B in transaction value currently stuck in our pipeline, creating a rare opportunity for interns to support not just sourcing, but the next layer of deal execution: investment memos, data rooms, buyer-seller materials, diligence organization, and transaction readiness. We are now opening our next Buyside Intern / Deal Manager pipeline. You will learn the human side of dealmaking first: * How to speak with business owners * How to understand seller motivation * How to navigate objections * How to identify deal readiness * How to structure conversations around valuation, seller financing, earnouts, rollover equity, transition plans, reps & warranties, and buyer fit * How to turn raw conversations into deal materials, investment memos, diligence workflows, and data rooms * How to help existing portfolio companies grow through outbound, research, sales support, market mapping, operational projects, and strategic initiatives * How to think like both a buyer and an operator * How real buyer-seller psychology shapes the outcome of a transaction Most students learn M&A through spreadsheets. At Caprae, you learn it through conversations, memos, data rooms, live transaction execution, portfolio growth, and company-building. What You’ll Do As a Buyside Intern, you will: * Call business owners and executives * Help source and qualify acquisition opportunities * Learn how buyers and sellers negotiate in the real world * Prepare call notes, next steps, and deal context * Support investment memo creation for active opportunities * Help organize data rooms and diligence materials * Support buyer-seller materials, transaction summaries, and deal readiness workflows * Help evaluate seller motivation, buyer fit, and deal feasibility * Support growth initiatives for current portfolio companies, including IT services, tech-enabled search, and services businesses * Help with market research, customer outreach, sales support, competitive mapping, and operating projects across portfolio companies * Learn how structures shift based on financing gaps, valuation gaps, transition concerns, and owner psychology * Work with deal teams, research teams, client-facing operators, and internal company-building initiatives * Support live buyer-seller interactions * Build the communication and execution muscles required to become a real dealmaker and operator Top performers can move into our Deal Manager Track, where they may help manage intern pipelines, support client execution, assist with internal acquisitions or new company launches, support portfolio company growth, and participate in a 5% revenue share program on managed accounts. This is where service-market fit becomes product-market fit. Training & Exposure Caprae interns will also have access to office hours, webinars, and training sessions with leaders across the M&A ecosystem, including: * Executives from a $20B AUM bank helping clients structure acquisition financing * Founders of an investment bank with average transaction value around $40M * A former Chief of Staff at Google who helps train CEOs and prepare operators for executive leadership * Caprae leadership working directly across active buyside, sell-side, capital advisory, acquisitions, venture builds, portfolio growth, and founder enablement initiatives Advanced interns may also receive leadership coaching from a former Chief of Staff at Google. Compensation & Growth We offer multiple tracks depending on role, experience, and fit, including paid hourly roles for qualified candidates. For cold calling roles, top performers can earn up to $21/hour + bonuses one of the higher hourly rates in the search and acquisition entrepreneurship internship market. Deal Managers may earn 5% revenue share + bonsues on total managed accounts. We strongly prefer to hire full-time talent from our internship program. Last year, we converted 4 interns into full-time roles In 2026, we expect to onboard significantly more full-time team members from this pipeline. Ideal Candidates We are looking for: * Strong communicators * Fast learners * Students who want responsibility early * People who enjoy structured, dynamic conversations * Future dealmakers who want to learn by doing * Candidates who want exposure to real M&A, not textbook M&A * Builders who can operate inside ambiguity, speed, and pressure * People who want to learn both sides of the job: founder conversations and transaction execution * People who want exposure to acquisitions, venture launches, portfolio company growth, and operating company-building * People who understand that great dealmakers and operators are trained through repetition, feedback, live reps, and real deliverables This internship is very practical. If you want to learn how deals actually happen, and how companies are actually built after the deal, this is one of the best training environments in the market.
