Business & Accounting Student Seeking Search Fund Internship

Hi everyone. My name is Andreja. I’m an incoming junior majoring in Accounting at DePaul University, and I recently earned my Associate’s in Business & Accounting from Moraine Valley Community College. I’m currently looking to break into the LMM–MM M&A space through a search fund internship. While I don’t yet have direct M&A experience, I’ve been proactively teaching myself crucial search fund processes: deal sourcing, quickly understanding acquisition criteria, analyzing CIMs, building basic pro forma models, tailoring investor pitch decks, and learning how to build relationships with brokers and sellers. In the past, I’ve consistently demonstrated traits I believe are critical for a strong search fund / PE intern: responsibility, communication, and excellence. As Vice President of the largest finance-focused organization at Moraine Valley, I helped organize leadership workshops and speaker events for 150+ students, handling marketing, speaker outreach, and budgeting. These efforts directly contributed to 10+ members landing competitive finance internships. I’ve also shown strong initiative and communication by cold-emailing my way into my first finance-related role as a remote accounting intern. In that role, I worked cross-functionally, supported month-end close processes, and communicated findings from variance analyses and financial reports with senior team members. To push myself beyond coursework, I’ve pursued technical finance certifications including Wall Street Prep and QuickBooks. I consistently look for ways to deepen my understanding of financial modeling, accounting, and valuation, driven by a genuine interest in learning and improving. My long-term goal is to build a career in high finance, and I’m particularly excited by the hands-on, scrappy nature of search funds and small-team investing. I’m eager to contribute wherever I can in deal sourcing and analysis, and I’m fully willing to put in the hours, paid or unpaid, because I genuinely enjoy learning and growing in this space.
