Building a board of directors

Hi all, does anyone have experience in finding, but more importantly reaching out to possible board members? For a consolidation we are searching for industry experts, however I could use a strong template for the communication. Thank you.

Hi there I haven’t amended a board of directors but am assembling a board of advisors. I just posted the job on LinkedIn and a surprisingly large number of people applied. It probably helps that I do some Angel investing as well which increases the traffic to my profile greatly. So far the interest has been strong despite no clear offer of remuneration.. from the conversations I suspect there is an expectation of pay eventually and cash seems to be preferred over stocks. Hope this helps

They are a group that is built for people on boards and looking to get on boards. I also network directly with a lot of executives and some are looking for board positions. If you can fill me in on what your criteria is, I may be able to make an introduction or two.
