Breaking into venture capital

I'm trying to transition away from tech and move into venture capital. I've got 10+ yoe in lean business process management, operations efficiency and automation.

Would love to help venture PortCos get leaner from the platform side and/or work as Senior Associate to evaluate start-up ideas and founders' visions.

Does anyone have connections to that world or know how someone like myself can break in?

Thanks in advance!

Hey ^redacted‌ not something I have done myself but I know of folks that have broken into it. Here is my honest opinion -- venture does not value operational efficiency. I think you will be hard pressed to find that generally. That being said, here are some resources/thoughts for breaking into VC:
-Breaking into VC blog (https://breakinto.vc/)
-BLCK VC has a "Breaking into venture" program for black operators -- find something similar
-Become an angel investor, way easier to point to your own portfolio and elaborate on your thesis and how that translates to an associate at a VC firm
-Become a sought after advisor which allows you to get a more wholistic view of an industry
-Develop a social media following (some folks got into VC primarily through this medium), when they hire you they gain an audience and influencer
-Get entrenched into the startup world and give VC's a great deal (ex venture scout)

I can probably help. Private Equity and Venture Capital are very siloed and the segments within those are also siloed from each other. That's one of the reasons it's so hard to break in. Feel free to shoot me an email and we can find a time to chat. - redacted
