Hello everyone! I've been working an off-market deal for the better part of a year now, and it looks like there might finally be some movement here. The challenge with this particular business is that it's going to be a turnaround, so I'd like to broaden my skillet in cash-flow projecting and turnaround strategy in general. Does anyone have any good book/course recommendations for turnaround acquisition? Thanks!

Hi, Tom, this happens to be a particular area of expertise and I have a pretty extensive list, just need to organize it, and I'll gladly post-it (or you can drop me a note at redacted As you well note, turnaround strategy broadly is definitely a distinct discipline from a good ole 13-week cash flow projection. If you want to be able to do those models nuts-to-bolts yourself (and to be clear, I'm not necessarily suggesting that I think it's necessary, easy enough to hire someone), there are some good specialized courses online. While their target audience is definitely investment banking analysts, Wall Street Prep has a genuinely good course, IMHO - to a lesser extent Wall Street Oasis and the Financial Modeling Institute. Not sure whether I'd tell you it's worth the expense, but you can also get resources from some of the industry association groups like AIRA (Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors). Please feel free to drop me a note if I can be helpful, and all the best, Matt

Robert S Curry has several books on small business turnarounds. I have listened to his audio books called "From Red to Black: A Business Turnaround" and "The Turnaround 2" - I liked these because they dealt with small business.
