Best resource for legal structure with a partnership

Hi all, 

I'm sure this has been brought up in posts here but I can't find anything conclusive in my research. Any thoughts on the best place to better understand the optimal legal structure when searching with a partner? We plan to purchase and operate a business together and want to know what we don't currently know about optimal legal structure. Thanks in advance for any help or direction!
