SMB Law Group is a boutique, transactional firm designed to serve the needs of buyers, sellers and operators. We have more work than we can handle, and we need deal lawyers to come on board and help us out. If you're a solo (or thinking about making the jump), or an attorney with bandwidth and the ability to take on outside work, let's talk about contract work. If you are interested in a paid attorney position, we can talk about employment options. We're building the ship as we fly, but we need help!
We have former “big law” attorneys who have worked at elite firms like Cravath, Kirkland & Ellis and Gibson Dunn and schlubs like me that are former solos who cut our teeth on Main Street deals. But we’re all dedicated deal lawyers who care deeply about our clients and the SMB deal space.
We are fully remote and care about family, entrepreneurship, and professional autonomy. We’re building a legal business, not just another bland law firm.
We do mostly flat fee billing rather than billable hours, we won’t force you to do lame social events or kowtow to jerk partners, and at SMB Law Group, you’re allowed to say “NO”! Do a good job, be efficient, be responsive to your clients, and say goodbye to the “I should be billing” guilt.
Almost all of your work will be managing buy-side M&A deals—drafting documents, running diligence, etc. That being said, there is plenty of general corporate and other work as well.
You take as much or as little work as you’d like. Want to make a boat load of $$? Cool, there’s plenty of work. Want to take 3 to 5 matters at a time, and have a consistent and steady lifestyle? Great! Want to take the entire month of December off? Enjoy the Holidays and we’ll talk to you in January.
Totally Remote. Forever and ever. No “return dates.” No traffic jams. No missed dinners, ball games, or bed times. Want to work from the Bahamas? Send us a postcard!
Compensation varies based on your workload and level of independence. You are in control of what you make based on how many matters you're willing and able to handle!
If this sounds interesting, (or you know someone who might be a good fit) send me questions here on Searchfunder, or by email at redacted or text me at###-###-#### I just joined this crew a month ago so I'm in a good spot to talk about the on-boarding process.
Thanks!
