Hi everyone - hope everyone's 2018 has been fruitful and wishing a strong 4Q. I will be launching my first Search Fund (ETA raise before year end, 1Q19 latest) and wanted to both intro & seek potential investors/insights here on searchfunder.com
I'm partnered with a prominent SEA entrepreneur (Forbes) to raise a search fund (targeting $500k, 10-15 units/investors) with a broad geo mandate focused across a few industry verticals. We have fully mapped out several potential OpCos, preliminary IOIs/bids (valuation highly attractive) and post merger plans.
Our vantage point is somewhat unique given that both myself & partner have some experience (mine in PE/fund investing/research & banking/operations, and his in real estate/industry/entrepreneurial excellence) and have mapped out a quick, pragmatic, and down-side limited approach to the search.
Of course we know reality can often deviate from plan but are highly confident in our ROI visibility (3-4x) & timing (3 month raise, consumated acq. within 2 quarters given indicative interest).
We have commitments from private contacts (HNIs, F&F, and business contacts), mostly APAC side and wanted to see if:
1. The honorable, US search community had investors (institutions, individuals, perhaps other search funders themselves both new and a few rodeos under belt) interested in APAC/SEA.
If so, would be great to hear from you here or my personal email redacted Thank you kindly.
2. Any deviations/nuance to the legal and structure of search funds (given templates and close knit group of lawyers/brokers/searchers are US focused)? Any international Searcher's experience would be great to hear.
3. Anyway we can help in Asia - existing searchers, investors, net work etc. Let me know!
Thanks.
Best,
Robert
