We have experience in the eBook space for schools. I can tell you from our experience is that big publishers are trying to kill print and even eBooks in favor of courseware. They are also trying to go direct when possible. However there is a still a long tail of smaller publishers that are far from digitizing their content. Lastly, OERs (Open Educational Resources) are emerging as a strong contender of paid/traditional content given the ever growing costs of course materials. Bottom line, it is a tough industry with several headwinds but some unique/niche plays may exist. I hope this helps...

My recommendation is that unless you have good experience within this sector, then seek elsewhere. This industry does require unique knowledge. It is also undertaking dramatic changes that a number of publishers, distributors et al are struggling to adapt too. Consolidation is occurring on top a changing populations approach to books and distribution methodologies. We have dealt with several different cases, with varying results. If you wish to ask further questions, only to happy to provide you with advice/our experience.
