I've spent the last decade at FAANG's and startups in senior product management / growth roles, with a successful exit and ~6 years on Meta's growth team. Exploring bringing this skillset to operate and grow small tech companies via a search fund, and curious if anyone has experience investing in or doing this themselves. Appreciate any advice or feedback, thanks.

I've found the biggest issues are (a) deep pocket buyers (PE, well-funded competitors); (b) figuring out which businesses are successful because of founders and which ones are successful despite the founders; and (c) taking the next big step in revenue or development of the technology. It's a tough ecosystem to scale.
