I'm specifically evaluating compounding pharmacies and would love to learn or share notes! For reference, I'm a physician and I've worked with compounding pharmacies in the past. I've also founded a VC-backed healthtech startup but definitely a different experience than acquiring a small business so I'm learning a lot!

^redacted‌ thank you for the tag on this particularly tasty subject. ^redacted‌ I'd compare compounding pharmacies to luxury goods, they are very specifically formulated around cosmetic applications, fertility, veterinary, and other maladies that are not readily available at scale via pharmaceutical manufacturer.

Being in your shoes, I'd be extremely diligent in vetting the customer list and ensuring they have solid repeat business from good providers. Doctors and Rxs is what pharmacies live and die for so P&L aside the entity itself is a commodity but the relationships it possess will go a long way in keeping you in business.

Good luck!
