Anyone with experience acquiring an agency/ company in the creative services realm?

I'm interested in pursuing the acquisition of an agency to avoid having to build one myself from scratch. I don't think the agency model is a particularly lucrative one but I've got experience leading digital services companies and I'm considering specializing an acquired agency in an area that I'm bullish on. Definitely a gamble but I'd love to. know if anyone has thoughts or experiences in something like this. Pros, cons, other all welcome!

I acquired a design and dev agency a couple of months ago. Overall I’m really happy with the acquisition so far, I think the biggest things I’d look for are: (1) what is the owner’s role and importance to client sales, (2) is there a management team that will be there to support the transition and (3) are you buying recurring contracts and client relationships or is it all project based.
