Thanks for the tag, ^redacted‌. ^redacted‌ I’m not an operator, but happy to compare notes if useful. I’m currently advising on a growth capital raise in the space and have worked on a number of sell-side engagements. redacted

Hi ^redacted‌ - nice to meet you. Owning a home healthcare business can be rewarding. Some of the best operators I've met in this sector tend to keep a close eye on the following: Cash flow, margins, and valuation are largely determined by reimbursement rates, billing accuracy, and payer mix. Small changes in Medicare rates or Medicaid policies can materially impact profitability. Strong operators closely manage coding, documentation, and audits. Caregiver shortages, wage pressure, and turnover directly affect service capacity and compliance. Agencies that outperform others tend to invest heavily in training, scheduling efficiency, and retention programs. If you are planning on buying a Medicare-certified home health agency, its important to note that you will need a medical director or certifying physician to oversee care plans and sign orders. If you are planning to use the SBA, having a physician as a partner, or even guaranteeing the loan will make this process a lot easier. The other option is going for a non-medical home care agency, which is regulated by the state or social services department. Revenue often comes from private pay or Medicare waiver payments. It's simpler, but is often more competitive and earns lower margins. We have a lot experience financing home healthcare companies via the SBA. If you ever need help talking through a deal, I am happy to help. We work with all the major SBA lenders. The bank pay us after your loan closes, so this is a 100% free service for you.You can email me directly at redacted or schedule a meeting with me: https://cal.com/francodeguzman/30min.
