I recently learned about the American Association of Private Lenders (AAPL) and the Texas Investment Network, two organizations that connect entrepreneurs with private lenders and investors for funding opportunities. As a buyer looking to acquire a business, I'm particularly interested in how these organizations can help me meet the 10% SBA-required buyer portion.

I'm curious to know if anyone in this community has had success in connecting with private lenders or investors through AAPL or Texas Investment Network. If so, I would love to hear about your experiences and any advice you may have for someone new to this type of outreach.

Additionally, if there are any other resources or organizations that you would recommend for someone looking to secure funding for an SBA loan, I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Thank you in advance for your help and insights.

Hi Dave, had not heard about these networking events before. Care to share details on upcoming events?
Regarding meeting potential investors, my advice is to go to one of the searcher happy hours in Dallas/Austin/Houston and network with investors there. For example, SIG and LiveOak Bank organized 3 different events in Dallas last 6 months. Besides former mentors and intros from others, that is how I built my network of ETA investors. If one good investor likes you, you will get intros to others..
