Hi ^redacted‌ - nice to meet you. Have financed several deals in this sector, and happy to share insights. There are no EPA regulations or standards for airborne mold contaminants. EPA Only about 15 states require mold licensing. Most states have zero rules. In unregulated states, anyone can start competing tomorrow. Ask what state the business operates in and whether licenses are tied to specific individuals. In states like Texas, it's strictly prohibited for one company to do both mold inspection and remediation on the same project. If this is a testing-only business, that's actually the sweet spot. The tester gets paid twice per job (initial assessment + post-remediation clearance) and remediation companies become a built-in referral source. Ask whether the business does both or just testing. We have a lot experience financing various companies via the SBA. If you ever need help reviewing a deal, I am happy to help. We work with all the major SBA lenders. The bank pay us after your loan closes, so this is a 100% free service for you. You can email me directly at redacted or schedule a meeting with me: https://cal.com/francodeguzman/30min. Look forward to chatting!

Have done large scale commercial and industrial improvements including IAQ in the past. Happy to consider co-investment or share anything helpful in making your decision regardless - feel free to reach out.
