Beyond academics and books I would highly recommend to start feeding and meeting all sort of network able to bring leads and deals (M&A, lawyers, alumni,...). This might appear as a waste of time for many as you are never sure to find leads when you attend what could d appear afterwards as "a boring function" or a" useless lecture", however if you are not born "hunter" you better learn to become one. Personally I fish lobsters and crabs and I know that means before getting one, wasting time in moving up side downs stones and rocks and very often not finding anything underneath. Your patience will be rewarded if you keep on chasing without counting your failures. Start soon to learn fishing not in books but on the fields ! Good luck!
