We have various bonding requirements in many of our contracts - performance, surety, etc. While aspects tied to the firm would likely transfer, my guess is all the guarantor-related stuff would need to be updated - and you would need to go through underwriting to apply for new ones. Somewhat depends on Asset v. Stock purchase and how the documents were signed originally. Finding the right rep to work with for bonds was a struggle for us. We got a lot of irrational "No's" in the process. Now we have a great broker who is extremely responsive and gets bid bonds done for us within 24 hrs in most cases. Swift Bonds. Our experience has been great with them..
