Anybody thought about launching a PE fund?

We are having some kind of informal fund, investigating if it will be worth to make it an official / visible / bigger one. Depends on lead and deal flow in our case. We are in care, in our locations, but also at home, but I guess home services are another game. What would make you choose for a fund instead of direct investments? Fund can be good in the long term I guess, maybe start with direct investments, then in longer term, transfer it to the fund or something.
