Any tips for moving with a family?

I would love to connect with anyone who has moved their family for an acquisition or is planning to do so.

I have agreed to the outline of a deal that entails moving with my husband and our four children from the D.C. area to New England, Now I am trying to parse through the logistics in greater detail. For example, if we don't move until after the transaction is finalized, what should we offer the current owners to stick around longer than usual?

How does it work to secure an SBA loan as a homeowner in an old location then shortly thereafter move to a new location? If you've done something like this, did you rent in the new location for a transition period? Did you sell your old house and rent in your old location until the acquisition was complete?
