Hi!
Has anyone looked at HVAC/plumbing companies in areas/regions within the US that have a requirement for a license to own the business?

Any ways around it?

If you are looking to finance the acquisition, the biggest issue you will have is experience. You will definitely need a licensed partner or you will need to be sure someone who is licensed is staying on board. Lender's will also try to look for some sort of relatable experience that leads them to believe you can run that type of company. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any additional questions on the financing end.

I recently looked at an HVAC company but could not get over someone with a license needing to own a percent of the business. I thought about getting my own license but the hoops are difficult. I would have had to spend 2000 hours as an apprentice with the union for 4 years and then be a journeyman for another year. The alternative is having someone control your business.
