Through a partner company, have some relatively unique exposure to some exciting things happening in the Bahamas. Looking for folks who have successfully purchased operating businesses and real estate there, business brokers, etc.

Haven't done it personally, but I know a few who have purchased real estate down there. Things are not run the same as up here, tariffs are often calculated at the whim of your agent (or not), labor is harder to manage/get consistent quality, especially if you're on a smaller island. Tax policy for foreign ownership i believe has changed recently as well, and infrastructure is not as well maintained (again in smaller islands). Probably not what you're looking for, but finding the right partner to walk you through it is definitely the right path.

My group has some current business interests on another island. My advice is to have great (and trustworthy) local partners and a well connected local attorney. These islands are like small towns in the US--everyone knows each other. As such, I recommend to tread lightly because you may be seen as just another outsider, and some people will take advantage of what you don't know. Also, everything down there works at a snails pace compared to the US (Island Time is real).
